I can officially cook

It's official!
I can cook for real!
Using recipes I find of course ... but the last two have been such a hit that I'm convinced I can make anything.

Tonight, I made that lovely celery/apple salad I posted down below...however, I have a confession to make.
I don't have a camera.
I use my Dad's camera, because he is lovely and gracious and sweet.
If anyone would like to contribute to the Meredeth Needs a Great Camera Fund, I'd be so so happy.
Dad was out of town when I made this salad, so the pictures were captured by my cellphone camera.

Here we go.

These are the ingredients. Yum!

I used 9 stalks of celery because we were serving 25ish people.

This is not vomit.  This is a dressing of: 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, 2 teaspoons honey, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, 1 diced garlic clove, some pepper, some rice vinegar

These are the leaves that you cut off of the celery stalks.  I just tossed them away to save time, but you can chop them up very finely and mix them in the salad.

I cut two Granny Smith apples into quarters, then tiny slices, then chunks. It all just depends on what kind of texture that you want.

Then I mixed the dressing, apples, and celery (diced into tiny pieces) in a large bowl and chilled in the fridge for about 1.5 hours.
The recipe calls for a chilling time of 1 hour, but it tastes MUCH better very cold.

I didn't get any pictures of the finished product, but apparently it was a hit!
When people my age (young) happily eat the food that I cook (from a non-young recipe), then I know it's a success. haha
