Let's practice this more.
I know that I am the worst at it.
Why be content when someone else has more, bigger, better, prettier things?

As I've been furnishing my place, I've realized that I can get caught up in a not-content mood very quickly.
With Etsy, Pinterest, Craigslist...there's always one more decoration, one more coffee table, one more dish set.

There's always one more outfit I can squeeze into my work wardrobe.

I want to get a new car, a new haircut, buy a new album.

I want, I want, I want.

But God teaches the beauty of simply being content.
It's in the Proverbs (Proverbs 19:23), in Paul's writings (Philippians 4:12).

And when you think about it...all the worries of wanting are gone.
Resting in Christ's love and grace replaces anything temporary.
Breathing in crisp morning air and falling asleep to the sound of a light rain.
Enjoying tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches with your best friend.
Meditating over the Word and reveling in the Truth.

Let's practice this more.
