Sour Milk Raisin Walnut Oatmeal Cookies

Mmmm. Just typing the title for the post makes my mouth water!
Are you looking for a great, simple cookie recipe?
Well then, read on, friends.

You will need:

2 c. oatmeal
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. melted shortening (or shortening substitute)
1 egg
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
Plenty of raisins
Plenty of chopped walnuts 

Mix sugar and shortening.
Stir in egg, sour milk, oatmeal, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, raisins and walnuts.
Refrigerate overnight.
Remove next day and add 2 to 2-1/2 c. flour.


Grease cookie sheet.
Spoon dough into rounds on sheet. Leave adequate space in between for expanding.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.


Mmmmm, best eaten right out of the oven.
