Five Favorites: Fall Blues

Fall is here.
The leaves are colorful, the crock pot is always cooking something delish, and the outside is ... incredibly dark.
I have the Fall Blues.

I also just made up the term "Fall Blues."
I like it. You're welcome.

As lovely as Fall is, I need a lot of extra happy to counter the cold, dark outside.

So here are my quick ways escape the Fall Blues.
(Again, you're welcome.)

  1. Lights, lights, lights. If you have an empty bird cage, put Christmas lights in them. If you have a entry way table, put Christmas lights on it. Or just put Christmas lights anywhere! Also, if you have candles, light all of them. We have 7 lit right now. Makes the dark seem not so dark.
  2. Bring floral back. Who says Fall means no flowers? Y'all, I have floral everywhere. It makes indoors more outdoors. And bright.
  3. Hang up pictures of summery memories. I went to my Instagram feed and printed off 30 pictures to hang from clothes pins on our kitchen wall. Then I look at them and remember what real flowers looked like and when I used to wear tank tops and what sunshine is like.
  4. Natural aromatics. Slice up an orange and put in a small sauce pan with cloves, 2 cinnamon sticks, and some ground nutmeg. Cover with an inch or so with water and then boil. Once it reaches the boiling point, reduce to a simmer. Leave on the heat as long as you want to. Only turn off if you don't want your house to smell like heaven. Seriously. Heaven. It is amazing.
  5. Eat pie. This one is self explanatory. I had 2 slices today! Chocolate and coconut cream. True story.
How do you deal with the Fall Blues?

Have a great week, friends.
