Pies & gratefulness

Hello, friends.
Are you still in a food coma?
How insane is it that we have such an abundance of food to be in a "food coma?"

Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays.
The leaves, the friends, the family, the food, the grateful hearts.

I was in charge of pies for yesterday.

I may have freaked out a little. And then bought store made crusts. And then researched Pinterest for "easy, quick, simple, beginners' pie recipes that take less than 8 hours and are easy and probably simple."

And then I baked for 7 hours and these happened.
- Pumpkin Pie - Sally's Baking Addiction
- Pecan Pie - Trisha Yearwood
- Mini Salted Caramel Apple Pies - Just a Taste

...And they were delicious! I made up some leaves to go on the pumpkin pie as I didn't have a tiny leaf cook cutter.

I hope you and your family had a really lovely time. I get in the habit of just complaining about my issues instead of being grateful for every little thing and yesterday reminded me that.

I was blessed yesterday with a warm, loving home to visit for food and love. I didn't have to work, or be out of town, or go hungry. It was an amazing, amazing day. Also, last night, R and I binged on homemade egg rolls so I think the day was perfect.

God is good.

Let me know if you try to make any of the pies! I hope you enjoy them.
